ORKLI presents at Rebuild its consumption meter for integrating pulse meters in its iDomus air conditioning system

ORKLI thus responds to the new monitoring needs for assessing the sustainability of buildings under BREEAM certification.

The company also presented its climate gateways for direct expansion, which make it possible to centralise interfaces from various manufacturers in its iDomus system.

ORKLI, a world leader in gas safety and hydronics, electronics and combustion solutions and a benchmark company in Spain in home comfort and health solutions, has just presented two important new features of its iDomus system at the recent Rebuild Show, held in Madrid between 19 and 21 March: its consumption meter to integrate pulse counters and comply with the BREEAM monitoring standard; and its climate gateways for direct expansion, which allow the interfaces of various manufacturers to be centralised in this system.

With these important new features, ORKLI is at the forefront of innovation in climate control and residential sustainability by providing the zoned climate control system, iDomus, with two important legs: on the one hand, for the optimisation of consumption; on the other, to improve the user experience through a series of climate gateways that simplify control and monitoring.

A Very Good standard

The BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) certificate is a system that assesses the sustainability of buildings. Developed by the UK's Building Research Establishment (BRE) in 1990, its main mission is to promote sustainable construction by assessing and improving the sustainability of buildings. To this end, it focuses on different aspects such as energy efficiency, water management, the use of sustainable materials, indoor air quality, waste management and the impact of construction on the natural environment. Thus, among other aspects that this certification specifically values are the monitoring of energy and water consumption.

To date, the iDomus zoned air-conditioning system developed by ORKLI did not have a consumption metering system for pulse meters. This is why, a few months ago, the company launched its consumption metering module on the market; an innovative tool that, in addition to displaying on the iDomus screen both the real-time consumption and the accumulated consumption of DHW and AFS, the calorific energy and the daily and usual electricity consumption of a home, incorporates an NTC outdoor temperature probe. A noteworthy aspect as it is one of the values that score in BREEAM-certified homes that want to obtain the very good level in energy optimisation.

This leap forward in iDomus monitoring is an innovation that is widely expected by the general public: in fact, BREEAM certification is an added value that is increasingly in demand in real estate transactions. And the fact that a zoned air-conditioning system such as iDomus can obtain a very good rating is excellent news for users committed to residential sustainability.

In addition, this module allows the control and establishment of alerts for consumption peaks. This makes it easier for the user to monitor and detect consumption peaks in AFS in 24-hour periods. For example, it allows notification of consumption increases compatible with water leaks when they exceed certain previously set parameters (number of residents, rooms, etc.).

New range of gateways

The other new feature of the iDomus system that ORKLI presented last week at the Rebuild Show are the gateways for direct expansion air-conditioning systems; these are modules that allow the interfaces of different manufacturers to be centralised in this system, giving the possibility of control from a single thermostat, regardless of the type of unit to be managed, radiant floor, climate or reinforced systems. This allows the elements of the same zone to be managed from the same thermostat, avoiding inconsistencies in the regulation and facilitating the use by the user. Now, thanks to these gateways, all the air conditioning elements in the same zone will not only speak the same language, but will also respond to a single voice.

About iDomus

ORKLI's iDomus is the advanced solution in climate control and regulation to help reduce energy consumption and achieve optimum energy efficiency. The iDomus system allows all the elements of a climate and ventilation installation to be managed automatically and the user only has to choose the temperature desired. The iDomus system, which incorporates the ZBUS connection, simplifies the installation and interconnection of zone thermostats (up to 8 separate zones) by means of double-wire wiring without polarity, allowing individual preferences to be satisfied without affecting overall comfort.
